Governor Rick Snyder recently announced the appointment of Richard (Rick) David to the state of Michigan Board of Accountancy. Mr. David will be representing certified public accountants.

“It is truly an honor for the Governor, a fellow CPA, to ask me to serve the people of the State of Michigan in this role. My ultimate goal of being on the State Board is ‘To protect the public’ and help maintain the noteworthy professionalism that is the hallmark of our profession,” said David. “The board has a great responsibility to the public and to our CPA profession. I intend to uphold the high standards and the strong ethical behavior that each CPA possesses. As a seasoned professional, I am excited for the future of CPA’s in Michigan and I hope to play a small part in our continued success and growth.”

Mr. David is the Chief Operating Officer of UHY Advisors, Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Michigan.

The nine-member board oversees licensure and certification requirements for certified public accountants and public accounting firm. “These appointees are a great addition to this board and I thank them for their willingness to serve,” Snyder said. Members serve four-year terms and their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the state Senate.
